The Last Great Gingham

Gingham week(s) is drawing to a close. Some of you might be relieved but maybe, just maybe, some of you are as sad as us. Fear not, gingham week will live on in our hearts and in our closets as we re-wear our outfits in our daily lives.

Alright, enough of the theatrics. We hope we provide you ladies with enough inspiration to go try out gingham for yourself, assuming you already haven’t. We fell in love with a pair of gingham shorts here, we made it work in both skirt and maxi dress form here, and in our last post, we found a midi dress and a cute ruffle top here!

I’m sure everyone has big plans for Memorial Day! Caitlin will be spending the weekend up in northern Wisconsin with our parents at the lake, and I will be heading down to Chicago to visit my twin brother. I can’t wait to eat some great food and spend some quality time.

As always, Memorial Day is bringing some great sales with it. No matter where you shop, you can probably snag some sort of deal! On our Instagram story yesterday, we shared the shorts from our first gingham post here, are on major sale this weekend.

Caitlin’s jeans she wore back in this post, are also on sale. We’ll add a couple of sale items to the widgets below for some great tall sale finds!

Onto today’s outfits, we wanted to showcase some great gingham workwear! Gingham is such a classic, versatile print and is so easily acceptable in any situation.

I found this ethereal skirt a couple of years ago from Asos. It’s actually from their main range not the tall range. We always still look at the main range, especially for midi skirts. As you can see, even though it’s worn high on my waist, it still hits in the appropriate spot below the knee.

A staple for every professional wardrobe, is this puff sleeve blouse that you saw me wear last with army green, here . You can’t go wrong with the cream color or the price. We both actually have it in several colors, it’s become our go-to for work wear.

Pairing it with nude flats really finishes the look to elongate the legs. Not that we truly need it, but I’m not complaining!

Caitlin’s gingham pants are a great find from Gap! They’re ankle length, which always updates your workwear and they have the perfect amount of stretch to still be super comfortable. They are also currently on sale this weekend and available in their regular cut or a curvy cut, which is better for ladies with more athletic thighs.

Her top is from Express and is another great option that has enough detail to be far from boring but still passes as workwear.

We actually both have it, and it’s a top a tall woman might initially be deterred from looking at, as the length doesn’t look promising in pictures. Luckily we liked it enough to try on and especially with anything high waisted, you can still add a front tuck to take your styling up a notch.

Lastly, have you tried mules yet? We’ve both gave them a chance and are now firmly in the love mules camp! Caitlin’s are from DSW.

So many good sales this weekend, will you be shopping any of them?
