Army Green Workwear

Army green, khaki, olive, or whatever you know it as; has been a favorite of ours for years now. As discussed in our last post, it can be considered a neutral in our closets, and who doesn’t love having more neutrals!

We don’t know about you, but having great workwear is a must. We both work in business casual and business formal offices and that requires a solid wardrobe in that area.

Obviously you can’t build that wardrobe overnight, especially if you’re coming out of college where your days were spent wearing sweat suits coming to and from practice and just generally being too lazy to care!

This is where a little ingenuity goes a long way! Obviously the smart choice would be to find great neutrals that you can remix over and over again. Orrrr, you can stop into a store you like and find out they have gorgeous pleated skirts on sale for SIX DOLLARS!

Before someone could jump out and tell me it was a pricing mistake I ran up to the register and took three beauties home! Finding great options in store can sometimes be frustrating but in this case it was a major tall girl win!

They hang wonderfully and look great with whatever kind of top you choose! I’ve styled mine with sweaters many times, as well as blazers or obviously just a blouse you can tuck in and define your waist!

I found this puff sleeved top at Express and it became an instant favorite of mine. It is a great dressy fabric and the length is AMAZING in the body. I have it in black as well, because it is such an easy work top to grab!

The nude flats will never be regretted, should you choose to purchase them! Sam Edelman has been and will be a go-to for great shoes. They are usually a bit more pricey but the cost per wear breaks down dramatically with a nude shoe that goes with everything!

Caitlin found these pants by a bad order of mine… aka I ordered them and didn’t read the description well enough to understand that if Express says ankle pants, even if they’re “longs” that they are NOT long enough to make them ankle pants on me.

But how fabulous do they look on her, being a small tall!? At 5’11, they are the perfect length! A sidebar message to Express – please keep providing amazing work pants but please add a longer length for the rest of us. Sincerely, all tall women looking for fashionable workwear.

Back to her outfit; she found these amazing linen shirts at Gap. They not only come in tall, but have generous sleeves and they come in many colors! As you could guess, we have multiple colors.

But this oatmeal color is one that will go the distance and looks amazing tucked into a pair of dress pants or jeans!

Caitlin’s nude flats are Lucky Brand and another great option for a nude flat. We aren’t joking about buying pieces that you’ll realistically use/wear all the time!

We’ll start to incorporate bags and accessories more and more, like this lovely purse Caitlin found at the Coach outlet. We don’t have a ton of high end purses, but when we do look for them we try to make them classics that we’ll keep forever!

So where are your favorite places to buy work pants? Would you rather spend a bunch of money on basics or do you care about finding updated options and colors?
