I’m back! Big thanks for Caitlin taking care of our blog so I could have a maternity leave. This “job” is much easier to come back to, compared to my corporate one. It’s also more exciting to return when we have so many great companies to share with you. Today is no exception, we are thrilled to introduce you to custom tall clothing with Verity the Brand! One of the coolest parts of social media is the ability to be a connector to new and upcoming brands. Carly has been working on Verity the Brand for some time now and watching the behind-the-scenes preparations for their launch only encouraged our enthusiasm for this new tall brand.

Verity the Brand Details

So what sets Verity the Brand apart? For one, they are slow fashion. This means that your specific order doesn’t exist until you actually place the order. You might be wondering what the advantage of this is. First, it doesn’t create waste because there won’t be any excess products laying around. Secondly, the beauty of this allows you to customize the items of clothing to your specific length. I don’t know about you, but that just gets me pumped up as someone accustomed to tugging clothing to cover extra length.

Furthermore, it allowed me to try my first mini dress in YEARS. Yes, the idea of a mini dress makes me shudder. Especially considering how many times I’ve tried ordering a “tall” mini dress only to find my lady parts one arm raise away from being on display. Plus, it’s practically impossible for tall brands to make a standard-length mini dress when you’re covering a range of like 7-8 inches of height difference. I understand their plight, but it doesn’t help me being on the tall end of that spectrum. Hence my penchant for midi dresses. Much more “room for error” on length differentials.

So full disclosure, we were gifted these items. We’re excited to share how the ordering process works with you. Before we start on shopping for custom tall clothing with Verity the Brand specifically, we want to encourage you to actually find out what your measurements are. It will only improve your shopping experience (as far as retailers measuring their garments accurately). This is where Verity excels. You’re 5’10 and want to show off a lot of leg? Make your dress shorter. You’re 6’4 like me and want to avoid playing peek-a-boo? Add a couple of inches as I did. We’re all in agreement that one size does not fit all!

Stacy Mini Dress

I chose the Stacy mini dress. I love the green print and the shirring plus the romantic sleeves felt like I could have designed it myself. Shirring is super popular for dresses right now and for good reason. It is simultaneously very flattering AND forgiving. So when ordering you have three selections to make for the dress. You have the size, first. Then you can customize your sleeve length from 14-17’ and the dress length from 26-34’. So as referenced above you’ll want to know your measurements preferences. I went with a large, 17-inch sleeve and 34-inch length. It absolutely exceeded my expectations.

Before we switch over to talking about the Emma blouse Caitlin chose, I have to mention the width of the tops. I cannot overstate how much we appreciate blouses that work for our wider shoulders. In both of these pieces, the sleeves hit exactly as they should with zero tugging or pulling. That’s the magic of customization!

Emma Blouse

Onto Caitlin’s lovely Emma blouse. It is the loveliest buttery seersucker print. Honestly the most ideal blouse. You already know the romantic sleeves were a big draw because we’re entirely predictable that way (and we love it). The measurements needed are your size choice, sleeve length both from top of shoulder 27-32’ and under armpit 21-26’, and your top length preference 15-19’. So if you like more of a cropped style or if you want it to your hip, whichever your hearts desire!

Caitlin chose size medium, 29-inch sleeve length, and 17-inch top length. Again a total win as all you get custom tall clothing with Verity the Brand’s pieces. You never have to look at a piece and wonder, “will it fit how I’d like it to?” The number one thing Caitlin and I agree that we constantly search for, are well-fitting tall blouses. Verity the Brand has nailed it and we can only hope Carly will continue to drop both new patterns and styles for us all to snag.

We love Verity the Brand’s ethos which is that tall fashion doesn’t have to be boring. I think there are enough basic options out there and Verity brings the style and fun we’ve been missing in our lives. Carly sources her fabrics from the UK and they are also made in the UK, so you can feel good about shopping with Verity the Brand as well. Lastly, we’re big on both outfit repeating and remixing aka getting a good cost per wear. Verity is made for this and therefore you don’t need to think twice about purchasing because you’re getting pieces you will adore and cherish for years!

Outfit Details/Links

As of right now, the sizing is S-L but she hopes to expand as soon as possible. Carly also designed a beautiful wrap skirt and a linen suit co-ord if either of those appeals more! We all know how quickly tall small businesses can come and go, so please support Verity The Brand if you love what you see. We can’t wait to see what is next in custom tall clothing with Verity the Brand.

You can shop the Stacy Mini Dress here and you can shop The Emma Blouse here. Lastly if you’re eyeing either of our shoes, we’ve got posts coming soon but check out our last post on NYA Size here if you like my pink boots and Lonia Shoes here, if you like Caitlin’s black sandals!

Oxymoron to say women’s tall shorts? Kind of. It’s 2021 and we’re still out here struggling to find the right shorts fit. Too short, too long, Bermuda, too tight, not the right proportions. You name it and we have struggled with it. We did a small bit of crowdsourcing to see where y’all shop and the number one answer was Old Navy. We went ahead and ordered a pair to find out for ourselves but they haven’t arrived quite yet. The two of us have agreed that approximately a 4″ -5″ inseam is our sweet spot. Check out some of our favorite women’s tall shorts below.

We also shared some Amalli Talli shorts we like, here. Check out their website for available options.

Be honest with us here. How many times have you searched something along the lines of:

Tall clothing, tall retailers, large womens shoes, tall women’s tops, tall shirts for women, tall Womens Swimsuit, tall one piece swimsuit, tall women’s swimwear, etc?

Honestly, same. It is a constant battle and it always seems to involve us searching and going to several dozen sites to find what we’re looking for. One of our goals with this blog is to compile as many one stop guides as we can. Tall Denim, Large Sized Shoes, etc. Today we are beginning the journey to a tall woman’s guide to swimwear. Enter Andie Swim tall swimsuits.

We are so happy to make your acquaintance. These suits are designed to support everyones preferences. Are you modest? A bit more risque? Do you like to show off your bum? Keep the seat covered? Well the good news is that whatever your preference may be Andie Swim tall swimsuits likely have something for you.

Fit Quiz

They offer a wonderful fit quiz here that points you directly to the suit(s) that would suit you! I for one can confirm that it led me in the right direction. If you’re not confident in what the quiz gives you we highly recommend reaching out to the team where they will be more than happy to help you find what you’re looking for.

The Malibu

We each tried the Malibu for starters. Not only is it tall and long torso friendly, it is also a bit more modest and nursing friendly! The coverage is amazing and it doesn’t shift at all while you’re playing in the lake. Jenilee is super excited to have a suit that will make mommin’ easy! Who I am kidding, I am excited to have a suit that will allow me to be the fun aunt without worrying about anything popping out when it shouldn’t.

Laguna and Havana

But also I am still a single aunt so I went ahead and scooped up the Laguna and Havana suit. Hopefully you pick up what I am putting down there. However, I did still go with the high waisted bottom, mostly to report back to all of you, on how high it is for these long torsos! And I can confirm that they came through in a big way. These really are suits that are for every body.

The quality of the suits themselves are phenomenal. Thick enough to be substantial, thin enough to be comfy and move with you. Just the right amount of compression and perfect breast pads. No complaints on the quality and fit from us!

For reference I, Caitlin, got the Medium in the Havana Top, High waisted Bottom, and  Medium tall in Laguna and Malibu

Jenilee would typically be a medium as well. However, due to obvious reasons she went with a large Malibu for this summer and it would have supported her through most of her pregnancy as well but will be the most perfect for a postpartum summer. We will provide some pictures of her in Malibu at a later date, sit tight.

P.S. I cannot wait to wear this bright red beauty on the Fourth Of July at the lake. It is going to compliment all of my red, white, and blue gear perfectly.

Where is your favorite place to shop from swimwear? And as a long torsoed gal what is your preferred style of suit? Help us help you!

Hi hi. Happy Friday! If you haven’t been around lately or don’t follow us on Instagram I wanted to remind you that right now this blog is being run solo dolo. By me, Caitlin. I’m doing my best to keep things business as usual but if some things fall through the crack that’s life! Let’s get to what we have been shopping/browsing/ and loving lately especially since there are some amazing Memorial Day 2021 Sales! As always if you shop something because of us we really appreciate you using our affiliate links. We try not to be pushy but we do put a lot of time into this so a little bit of payoff means a lot to us. Also, this is a mix of affiliate and regular links because we just want to share all the things we love!

Rothy’s

We have been on this soapbox for a while now but every single time we wear them we are reminded how much we love them. They don’t typically do a lot of sales so nothing specific to Memorial Day 2021. Click here for $20 off your first pair! They go up to size 13, they make the perfect travel shoes, they offer business professional looks and everything in between! The Chelsea Booties are some of our favorites. We have them in black and olive green!

Gap

I have been having a moment with Gap. The basically just get me sometimes so when they did Friends & Family I sort of went to town. No regrets. They usually have good Memorial Day 2021 sales too.

This is actually a tunic but I love the extra length to tuck it in! It’s something I have been on the hunt for and my favorite item from the order. And I LOVE the fit of these jeans. I also got this romper and fully intend on living in it this summer as a cover-up and out to casual bars and whatnot!

Body Suit– I got a LT and there is plenty of space. Great Fourth of July option!

I snagged these jeans too and love em. My normal size is 30 Tall.

Next, I purchased this in camel and olive and Jenilee and my mom promptly did the same because it’s that good. LT across the board for sizing. I have also still been wearing this jacket on repeat.

We’ve been sprinkling our feed with Alloy Apparel tall clothing over the last weeks/months, if you haven’t noticed! April showers of the Alloy variety, if you will haha. It was fun to work with Alloy while pregnant, and figure out what could still work for my ever growing body. Honestly, I am super impressed and grateful to have these items of clothing. Basically, we just want to do a photo dump post and talk through some of the fit, for next time you’re browsing and purchasing at Alloy Apparel tall clothing! If you want a look back at some other Alloy items we’ve worn, click here, here or here.

So first up, I strategically picked their items that had elastic or smocked waistbands. These denim joggers are unfortunately long sold out but I chose them in size XL and they are fitting my 38 week bump still! I’ve been wearing them to work every week at minimum. I loved that the waistband was still still pretty high on my bump and I think I’ll be rocking them in my postpartum recovery days as well because they just comfortable and well-fitting.

Tall Boho Pants

Next up and also the ideal waistband (pregnant or not) are the Tall Smock Waist Flowy Pants. Again, I’m so ecstatic to have these lightweight flowy tribal pants for wear during AND after pregnancy. At 37 inch inseam, I was a little concerned if the length would be there for me at 6’4. Apparently that is a completely unfounded concern because clearly they are skimming the ground! Sized up to XL again but also appreciate the thigh room for my athletic shape! We will likely have to shoot these again in the summer postpartum if they are still shoppable to see in a different shape.

Tall Maxi Dresses

I still believe one of the most searched items by tall women are maxi dresses. It is no easy feat to find a good maxi dress especially with all the different style preferences. Add in adequate sleeve, waist, and/or chest length and it’s a tall order. I felt like I was rolling the dice even more adding a baby bump. Again Alloy came through with their Tall Maxi Slit Dress! I sized up to XL and no exaggeration it made me feel like a pregnant goddess! It’s available in three colors and under $60, a show stopper for whatever event you need to attend. The length is there for as well at 6’4 so no worrying about if it measures up.

Caitlin tried out their Tall Long Sleeve Split Hem T-Shirt in S/M white and loved the versatility. You can take the front split and knot it for a cute look without pulling up the backside of the shirt. We are always looking for good long sleeve shirts and love this option. The other option is to just wear it normally with the side slit, which is great if you’re like us and wear a smaller size on top than bottoms. It accentuates the waist nicely because it doesn’t cover your side hip area.

Tall Bodysuits

She also grabbed the Johnny Collar Bodysuit. If you’ve been around these parts, you know we’re both suckers for a good bodysuit. We’ve tried Alloy’s bodysuits in the past and been quite pleased with the fit. This bodysuit is no exception. It adds a bit of visual interest at the collar, especially perfect if you’re a fan of 70’s fashion. No need to size up for any of their bodysuits, she is wearing a Medium.

Tall Duster

We also both got their Rib Knit Duster, which is now sold out. All we can say is, grab yours next year when they’re in stock again. They are a great midi length and ridiculously soft. They also manage to be really nicely fitted but somehow ideally slouchy. We all need well-fitting layering pieces and this Duster is the answer! Caitlin is wearing the mustard in Medium and I did the Grey in Large.

We apparently got ahold of some of these pieces on their way out the door, so apologies for sharing sold out items. But we love to talk sizing for people to get the idea of the consistency of a store if they haven’t made a purchase yet. We’ve been eyeing up some of their new drops, like their Oversized Blazer, and these Strappy Back Bodysuits! Oh and how could we forget to mention these Camo Joggers, or the High Waist Julia pants if you’re heading back to work in the office like us, soon.
