Romper Roundup

Welcome back from the weekend! We had a big one, we visited a friend down in Lake Geneva and had a blast learning new things we can implement into our blog/Instagram, so get ready for us to up our game! Also, we’ve been hyping it up the last few weeks, but Prime Day is upon us – it starts this afternoon! Sometimes when these big “sale days” arrive, it can be easy to get carried away by their flash sales, etc and feel like you have to purchase.

A helpful tool we’ve discovered is this site, which tells you the pricing history of whatever product you’re eyeing and checking to make sure they didn’t inflate the price right before Prime Day. If you’re interested in checking out some amazing deals, click here! Sometime easy that you can do to give back is to type smile.amazon.com and pick your favorite charity, so every time you make a purchase Amazon donates a percentage towards them.

Like we mentioned last week, now is a great time to snatch up some Amazon branded products.  We both received the Dot for Christmas, today it’s only $29.99 and we enjoy using it for listening to music most of all. Our favorite is the Kindle and you can grab one for $50.00. I love traveling with my Kindle, because it is so lightweight and then I don’t have to worry about packing five books and taking up precious suitcase space! If you already have a Kindle, like us – onto the more important part, which is putting books on it! Test out Kindle Unlimited at just $0.99 for 3 months. If you even read just one book during that time period, it will be worth your money.

If anyone is interested in Prime Day but you don’t have a Prime Membership; this is a perfect time to try it out. They have a free 30-day membership, and believe us, it is so worth it! I made Caitlin play basketball with me yesterday for the first time in 8 years and she killed it! She had 12 points and 8 rebounds, like a boss! They wanted her to join the team permanently, so we went on Amazon and snagged this pair of basketball shoes for $35! We’ll keep you updated if they work well.

I’m handing it over to Caitlin now, who put this post together in response to a reader request!

If you’re working with extra height, you are probably too familiar with the struggle to find a romper that fits appropriately. No one has time for an ill fitting romper or the dreaded camel toe can accompany wearing one, especially when rompers should be your one-piece wonder best friend! Well settle in-we’re here to help!

I am much more partial to rompers than Jenilee and tend to order many more to try out. She has been let down too many times by the lack of length offered in the tall options. She has ordered and I ended up keeping it due to lack of length before. Sometimes it’s just me snagging them first and she knows what’s mine is hers to borrow!

If you’re new around here you may not be aware of our affinity to Asos. But it is hands down our first stop while looking for tall options in anything clothing. They have nailed it on many accounts and other times we have to ask: “What are you thinking calling this a tall!?”

Now for the fun-let’s review some we have tried out! As a reminder for those who aren’t familiar with us-Jenilee is 6’4 and I am 5’11.

Up first is this comfy jersey minimal romper with pockets. Jenilee and I both ordered this in black with the intention to use it as a swimsuit coverup. Whenever we order jersey products from asos, we definitely err on the side of ordering smaller, as they tend to be generously cut. When it arrived we were both smitten. It is hands down the most comfortable romper we have both owned with plenty of length in the torso. It may not be a statement piece but comfort goes a long way with me. As you can see from the asos model it can definitely be dressed up and worn out! Another tall lady in our life laid eyes on ours and may or may not be getting one as a gift! As we’ve mentioned before, we love these cups to have by the pool. Even when it’s sweltering out, our drinks stay cold and the color is one of our favorites. I also added a handle that slips on and off but makes it easy to hold.

Second is this Crinkle button front romper. I ordered this one in hopes it could be added in the mix of LBDs I grab for all summer long and it fit the bill. It is a very simple easy to wear romper that I have found myself reaching for on the hottest summer nights so I can stay cool while out and about in the city. I took advantage of the adjustable straps on this romper and there is definitely plenty of space for me. However, I don’t think Jenilee will be wearing this one out anytime soon! P.S. it also comes in a beautiful green color!

After trying out another red romper and sadly being let down (Spoiler alert below), i

t was a breath of fresh air opening up and trying on this correctly sized beauty. I love that it added a bright pop to my closet and is a new print for me.

I loved that the shorts leaned a bit more to the conservative side, but still age appropriate for me.

This one also fit Jenilee with ease, and I feel like she will be borrowing it soon! She grabbed this fun matching speaker, which is perfect for a day at the pool to relax and listen to music while we float.

If you can’t tell yet, we love to buy basics around here. So anything black usually has a place in our closets. This romper is sort of a combination of the last two. It is made of an extremely soft jersey material but a little easier to wear for a night out than the first jersey one.

Because this one is off the shoulder it is a little more forgiving than some other rompers can be and eliminates the possibility of tugging for more length in the torso. I have a feeling we will both be sharing this one.

This next one will be featured on its own soon but I didn’t want to withhold a romper-win from my tall fam! This one definitely fits me with comfort and ease once I have it on. However, this may be the most difficult romper to get into that I own. It’s definitely possible it just took a few shimmies and shakes.

The quality of this romper is unbeatable with its thick fabric that can either be dressed up or worn casually. This versatile piece would be better for our agile tall friends. It fit Jenilee comfortably, also once she had it on.

We are constantly snapping quick pictures when we receive orders in the mail to send each other our favorites and unfo

rtunately sometimes our fails. And boy was this one a fail. I had to laugh when I put it on and the majority of my behind was out for all to see. Jenilee also got a good laugh out of the picture I sent with the comment: “Do you think this is acceptable to wear in public?” Keep in mind, both Jenilee and I are not lacking when it comes to having some junk in the trunk. So sometimes we just accept that things won’t always work for our curvy figures but this “tall” romper was way off base. I think this would be best for a very small tall-maybe someone who is 5’9” or shorter. We loved this beautiful red floral print and I am still bummed I had to ship it right back.

Similar to the last one…how is this a tall, Asos? I was so excited that this was a short sleeve option that I would be able to wear with ease, and a regular bra. Sadly, this one was also at least a few inches too short and exposed way too much of the behind for my liking. There is no way this would fit Jenilee in any way, and it was placed right back into the bag. But hey, at least Asos makes shipping and returns a breeze!

We hope this will help you save some time and money ordering. Below you will a few other options that we haven’t personally tried yet but have faith they could work. If you want to shop any of these as well check the widget below and as a bonus I also added one with jumpsuits we have purchased and loved!
