Orange you Glad it’s Summer

Please excuse us, like any good Wisconsinite, we’ll be outside taking full advantage of this glorious weather. It couldn’t have come sooner, because Summerfest is upon us! Have you heard of the worlds largest music festival? We get a week and a half of amazing music options to choose from, and it’s super affordable as well. Our family headed down to see Imagine Dragons kick off the festival last night and we had a great time, even sitting in the lawn seats!

This week has been jam packed full of activities, most of which are outside and we are truly enjoying it. Our favorite flavor of the day is at Kopps tonight so we’ve made a date to stop by on our way to volleyball! If you’re a Milwaukeen, then you know Kopps is the best for custard, and if you’re ever visiting – make a point to stop by!

This weekend we get to see Kaleo at one of the free stages, and I am super excited! Tim and I drove to see them perform in Madison and they rocked the venue, so I’m sure they will do the same at Summerfest.

On Friday Caitlin and I are planning on heading to a local park to play some volleyball with a few friends and we convinced our dad to let us use his new tall friendly grill. Despite it sitting up high, it is extremely easy to transport, because it folds up and comes in a great carrying case!

Caitlin is bringing this volleyball and it has held up nicely for the 2 years with minimal deflation! Isn’t it so much easier to make plans when the weather is nice? You’re not sitting at home hoping to to be left alone, like winter (hopefully).

We’ve got some bright summer friendly outfits for you today. Orange has been a color that I had sworn off, kind of similar to Caitlin with red, but it has completely pulled me back in now. I don’t care how many people tell me how festive I look during the fall, I’ve embraced it.

I’ve been eyeing up these little ruffle skirts for a while and found a tall version we can all love. As you can tell, it is plenty long for a mini skirt. I probably could have sized down, but being in between sizes I usually err on the larger size, because squeezing isn’t cute or comfortable, amiright? Also, not sure why the widget below is saying it’s sold out, it is currently available in all tall sizes!

I brought back this new favorite tank of mine, because the colors pulled in perfectly. I love when you buy clothes from different retailers and their colors are the same. It’s the little things that make you happy and keep your closet cohesive! Perhaps could have sized down in this tank as well, but that is one of the perils of shopping at a regular retailer!

Caitlin found this beautiful colored top and we also found it in a mustard color as well. They are THE most perfect worktops, the puff sleeve really classes it up nicely and adds visual interest. We were just doing some shopping over lunch and I picked up this ribbed version in two colors.

She paired it with her favorite bootleg jeans for a 70’s vibe, and added a fun matching stone necklace. These are a perfect length on her, with a 35” inseam, so you might want to avoid these if you have a longer than 37” inseam, as you can tell she has a little bit of extra room – but they wouldn’t go the distance for me and mine 38” inseam. This would be a perfect look to wear to work on casual Friday, very put together and suitable jeans but still current looking!

Are you hitting up any music festivals this season? Tell us in the comments below!
