The Return Of The Babydoll Tank
Happy Thursday, friends! We are both over here anxiously waiting for the weekend when we get to head up north with our family for TEN days! We love our week long getaways to the lake and all of the quality family time (and extra reading time). Thankfully this week has been keeping both of us as busy as can be with our volleyball leagues, personal training, concerts, work, and of course a visit to the Wisconsin State Fair. If you ever have a chance to visit a Wisconsin Festival we strongly encourage you to take that opportunity. We take our fairs and festivals seriously around here! Anyways let’s switch gears and get to the goods.
Once upon a time high school Caitlin had an obsession with babydoll tanks. Maybe it was because I was still adjusting to my body growing, changing, and just in general being a bit modest and self conscious. Or high school me was just smart and knew that comfort usually comes above everything else!
I love that most babydoll tanks are the perfect piece to wear a regular bra with, something I value greatly, if you haven’t picked up on that yet! Really though, it’s so easy to just toss a tank on, grab your favorite pair of jeans or shorts and be on your way. It’s a summer staple I would say.
As you all know we are rightfully partial to buying clothing in tall sizing, but one place we still pretty consistently have luck with is Express. We also love their tall jeans and are just patiently waiting for tall tops now that they have petite and plus sizes. Does it ever feel like us tall ladies are forgotten when it comes to specialty sizing? I digress.
Anyways like I said we are still constantly stopping into our local Express and primarily finding solid work staples and the occasional cute day to day tops and tank like this one. It’s one of the last few places we like to hit up at the mall.
We are mainly online shoppers but with Express we like to stop in because we know not everything will fit how it does on the models and it saves on a potential return. I was pleased when the elastic hit my waist at the correct spot with this striped beauty. I LOVED this color combination and knew it would be coming home with me that day.
Funny story about these jeans which are from Asos and are the Ridley style if anyone was wondering. I just completely forgot to bring pants with me to our shoot that day. Who does that!? Thank goodness we are usually the same size and I could just slip into some of Jenilee’s pants but I just had to keep it real and share with y’all that things typically don’t go according to plan but personally I am working hard at rolling with the punches and letting the control slip away – which definitely isn’t easy, especially when I am already trying to work on being comfortable in front of a camera. I’m lucky to have a sister who helps me with all of this!
Anyways, you’ve seen these shoes, you’ve seen these pants and now we are remixing in this tank that is too cute and easy not to own!
We would love to hear from you in the comments on where you have the best luck finding summer basics!
And we hope you all have a wonderful weekend ahead!
Unfortunately this exact tank sold out YESTERDAY. But if you’re wanting to shop a similar look, check out this one, this one, or this tank!
Great news for these sandals though-they are majorly on sale!!
And if you need a laugh to send you into the day here is a real reel from below wiping the sweat during this HOT shoot.
