Overall, it’s Hot

We’re back after a quintessential summer weekend. It started with the Brewer’s game tailgate in honor of Father’s Day. We had perfect grilling weather and we got to try out their new grill – which was incredible and so easy to use – even for a novice like me!  Caitlin brought her new chair and we were all jealous of her sitting like a queen in it. We might have to upgrade soon.

We play some KanJam, if you haven’t played this game yet, you’re not having fun. Slightly suspect of us to play in the parking lot full of cars, but casualties were thankfully avoided.

The Brewers annihilate the Phillies, which made the game really enjoyable. On our way out of the parking lot, we hit a bump in the road. This normally wouldn’t have been an issue, but with the height of the backseat passengers being 5’11 at the shortest – we all bonked our heads on the ceiling. #tallpeopleproblems you just have to laugh about!

We’ve had some glorious hot weather, and we’re here for it! We got to take advantage of some pool time. Caitlin hung out both days by the pool and I had to do some organizing around the house Saturday, but it sure does feel good to get it done!

Sunday we celebrated Father’s Day some more. We kegged up some of my Dad and Caitlin’s beers, which we can’t wait to sample. The rest of the day was pretty lazy, floating in the pool with our moms incredible new pool float – it’s like floating on a cloud  and then grilling out some ribs, chicken, and veggies – they found a new recipe and it turned out amazing.

We were so thankful to have spent the day away from our houses, because when we got home it was sweltering! Tim and I just bought a new air conditioner from Costco, and we should have turned it on sooner because that was some serious heat to work out of our house! Caitlin dealt with the same thing, getting ready for work this morning was a beast.

We wanted to show some hot weather outfits, for when you can’t just wear a swimming suit all the time. We were quite happy in these swimsuits laying out though! Jenilee wore this top and these bottoms and Caitlin wore this top and these bottoms. They are all under $25!

Caitlin found these overalls in tall and had been wanting to try them for awhile now. They give just enough shape without being tight, and are super comfy and cute. Plus they are long enough for her, which is the most important thing. The straps are adjustable so unless all of your height is in your torso, they should work for us on the taller end of the spectrum as well. They are definitely true to size.

She found this perfect basic crop tee, which is also in tall and a fun summer color! They would be well paired with a tighter t-shirt and if you really wanted to get wild you could wear with a bodysuit to emphasize your waist.

I grabbed my favorite jean shorts. They come in the 5 inch inseam and are a boyfriend fit, which I adore for my athletic thighs. We don’t need any thigh squeezage here. They have the perfect slouchy fit for casual wear and run true to size as well.

I also have several of the crew neck t-shirts in my wardrobe because they are an easy to grab item and they can be layered, should the temperature drop below 80 degrees any time soon. Plus they are super reasonable and the fabric feels lightweight yet luxe!

What do you think about the overalls coming back in style? The last time Caitlin wore them was probably 4th grade, but doesn’t she look cute?

Also, if you’re living under a rock or don’t obsessively stalk Asos like we do; they have a great sale going on right now, up to 60% off some amazing tall styles.
